The vision of the SADP is
to contribute to improve the livelihood of
Nepalese farmers of diverse agro-ecological,
socio-economic and cultural setting through
development and promotion of sustainable
farming system.
To create awareness
among the local grassroot farmers, student,
activist and others about the positive
impact of OA and other related aspect to OA
such as peramculture, biodynamic etc.
•To
encourage farmers for the utilization of
local resources and alerting them about the
long-term effect of chemical use on
environment, ecology and as well as to human
health and animal welfare.
•To
co-ordinate with national and international
organizations for the growth of OA.
•To
run specific literacy classes for the
illiterate farmers and their family to build
up analysis capacity.
•To
encourage farmers to adopt integrated
farming system bringing radical changes in
traditional agriculture method.
•To
initiate micro-finance system among the
farmers by managing group funding to reduce
the poverty.
•To
provide training and to develop knowledge
and skills on Sustainable Agriculture (SA).
•To
work on Food Security program.
•To
encourage people for the preservation of
local seeds and production organic seeds.
•To
promote organic agro tourism (Eco-tourism).
The world has been
under a serious problem. The conventional
farming system is neglecting the bad impact
of chemical on human health and in the
nature. The ecological environment of the
earth has been in a great danger. As the
conventional farming is causing chemical
hazards, we have to think on for the
preservation of environment and its
creatures.
The only way to maintain ecological balance
in the nature is organic farming. To analyze
and the organic farming as best solution, we
are presenting some principles of organic
farming.
•To
grow qualitative food in sufficient way.
•To
keep inter relationship with nature and work
with it.
•To
encourage microorganisms insects & weeds for
the reuse under recycle process.
•Long-term
management of soil fertility.
•To
minimize all types of pollutions.
•To
give priority for the use of resources this
can be reused.
•To
provide minimum required facilities to the
birds & animals reared.
•To
promote bio-diversity & production system.
•To
establish cordial relationship between
agriculture production & animal rearing.
•To
establish the demonstrating organic farming.
While we overview, the
history of OA in Nepal it seems that the
situation is rising with lots of hope of
rays. There are tremendous possibilities on
OA and Permaculture in Nepal due to its
diverse climate and geographical condition.
Some private entrepreneurs, GOs and NGOs
have been working for the sustainability of
agriculture carrying the core principles on
organic agriculture and permaculture.
However the situation is not satisfactory.
Expertise & high technology is required for
the significant achievement in this sector.
Nepal lags far behind in the technology;
even there are enormous possibilities. To
institutionalizing organic agriculture &
permaculture nation wide and globally,
further steps has to be taken. Our
initiative actions in this regard can be
recognition for the future generations.
Upon
reviewing situations of OA & permaculture in
Nepal, following methodologies must be taken
to pioneer it in the nation wide.
•By
encouraging private entrepreneurs to
establish research and training center.
•By
producing of quality organic seeds.
•Formulate
concrete planning policy for the betterment
of farmers & farming system.
•Implement
OA and Permaculture principal manipulating
old methods.
•Bringing
of legislation of certification of organic
products.
•Manage
fine networking of marketing system.
•Create
public awareness about the bad impact of
disorganized agriculture activities.
•To
encourage farmers to apply modern technology
by not destroying natural resources.
•To
introduce it among the students of schools.
As we felt
that with out doing practical work it
cannot be made dissemination of OA. So
we decided to establish a Demonstration
Organic Farm named Setivalley Organic
Farm (SOF) in a beautiful location. The
land area is about 10 acres where we are
planning to conduct trainings on the
subject of organic agriculture,
permaculture and other related subject.

Cows, buffalo, goats, local bread chicks
are also reared in propose of organic
milk, meat and animal manure. Pets like
dogs and cats are also kept.
