I am so grateful to have come to
Nepal and experience Pokhara in the way that we did. WWOOFing
here in cooperation with SADP Nepal was very rewarding.
All of the members of SADP Nepal welcomed us as if we
were family and continue to offer their help with
whatever we need. They are a wonderful group of people.
Our stays at the different farms in Pokhara were
excellent sources for cultural exchange and sharing of
ideas.
The hosts kept us well-fed and happy for the most part.
I do have some suggestions that I believe could benefit
the program if put into action. First, I felt that the
hosts weren't very aware of our purpose for staying with
them. They didn't seem to know why we wanted to farm and
laughed at us when we tried to explain that we were
there to work. I think it would be good to make sure the
hosts know what the SADP and WWOOF organizations are and
tell them to put us to work. I suggest that the hosts
read about the WWOOF and SADP organizations and have a
bigger role in their position. This group has a lot of
potential. Their hearts and minds are in the right
places and they care deeply about this program and its
success. I would recommend everyone coming and involving
themselves in this program.
